NAEYC Accreditation

Duck Hollow Discovery Learning Center is very proud to be recognized by the National Association for the  Education of Young Children (NAEYC) as a high quality childhood education program. 

NAEYC is a national organization dedicated to improving the well-being of all young children, with particular focus on the quality of educational and developmental services for all children from birth through age 8. NAEYC is committed to becoming an increasingly high performing and inclusive organization.

After going through a comprehensive process that verifies compliance with their standards, Duck Hollow Discovery Learning Center and The Cub's Den have both achieved this accreditation.

Pennsylvania STARS Accreditation

Pennsylvania is also reaching higher for quality childcare by offering performance standards through Keystone STARS.   

The Keystone STARS program provides Standards, Training, Assistance, Resources, and Support (STARS) to facilitate continuous improvement and recognize achievement by child care providers.

Keystone STARS is a voluntary program that recognizes Department of Public Welfare (DPW) regulated child care providers that exceed state health and safety licensing requirements. Pennsylvania licenses child care centers and group day homes that have seven or more children unrelated to the operator. It registers family day care homes that provide care for four to six children unrelated to the provider. Keystone Stars is available to all of these providers regulated by DPW.

Keystone STARS establishes a quality rating system beginning with the Start With STARS level and progressing up through a STAR One, Two, Three, or Four designation. Each STAR designation has its own research-based performance standards or benchmarks that are linked to improving outcomes for children.

We are pleased to announce that both Duck Hollow Discovery Learning Center and The Cub's Den have recently been rated as 4 Star facilities.
